Welcome to the 12th EFTMS workshop and the 1st EFTMS School!

This edition of the bi-annual EFTMS workshop series is joined with the first edition of the European Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry School.
This is because the large development and diffusion of FT based technologies requires a solid and up-to-date formation and education in this field.

The 1st EFTMS School
The 1st European Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry School inaugurates a new important advanced educational activity in high resolution mass spectrometry and in instrumentation using the Fourier Transform technology, such as Orbitrap and Ion Cyclotron Resonance instruments.
The school, with a two half day duration, is addressed to graduate, PhD, post-doc students, and young working in the areas of biosciences, food, environment, chemistry and medicine.
The school will be also an useful occasion for allowing meeting of young scientists coming from different countries and for creating new links among young generation of mass spectrometrists.

The 12th EFTMS Workshop
The bi-annual EFTMS workshop series aims to bring together leading academic and industrial scientists working in the field of high resolution mass spectrometry - Ion Cyclotron Resonance and Orbitrap Fourier Transform Mass Spectrometry.
The workshop is organized in plenary lectures, oral and poster communications. Scientific contributions typically range from fundamentals and technical innovations to cutting-edge applications in the life and environmental sciences that use the full power of these techniques.

Location
Both EFTMS school and workshop will take place in the ancient city of Matera, located in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata. Matera has been awarded the title of the 2019 European Capital of Culture. Matera is steeped in history and is home to the famous Sassi, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back over 7000 years.
